25th Birthday Halloween

The best way to surprise yourself is plan a trip last minute. No anticipations and no expectations! This year, I celebrated my 25th birthday in Las Vegas, NV. The city that never failed to entertain me. Since hubby started working graveyard shifts, we decided to leave town during the afternoon. We arrived in our hotel at 5 o'clock, checked-in and dressed up. By the way, we checked-in at Rio, though it's off the strip, it's only 50 bucks a night. FYI: All hotels along the strip cost $100 and up because of Halloween. Rio had the best deal.

Pretty decent for 50 right? It's a studio suite by the way!
We then went to MGM Grand right away to get our tickets for KA. While waiting for the show time, we ate at Rainforest Cafe. It took like 30 minutes before the food arrive, we already finished a sachet of sugar coz hunger was dizzying.

Then, KA! Our tickets was on sale online and unexpectedly, we got the best view. About the show, it was something creative and surprising. The costumes did not impress me, but their actions and stunts did. It was simply unbelievable how they could make a very nice production. The stage was not that huge but they had these two platforms that moves so they created much space. It was definitely a gravity defying experience. I thought the people in some scenes are animated but they were not! The only advise I can give is to see it for yourself.

Outside KA theater.
After the show, we then wore our Halloween costumes. Alain had this beard and wig that made him look like Alan from Hangover while I wore my Afro wig and 70's-like dress. It felt cool to walk around Vegas on our costumes although I noticed that lots of Halloween costumes for females looked too sexy. And that ended our night. The day after that was another story.

Dunkin

December 15, 2011

Seven days before Pepper's birthday, we took a trip to Moreno Valley to bring home a new puppy.

I have no idea that my husband has been desperate to have another dog. All I'm thinking was that we don't have our own house yet and it would be hard to find an apartment with two dogs. I didn't know that for months he's been looking for a pup online. He showed me pictures of puppies and of course I loved it, but it didn't mean I want to adopt it.

There I was in a car, 80 miles away from home, getting a puppy that I was not ready for. I didn't want another dog to love, knowing that dogs have few years to live than humans-- that makes me really sad. For the love of dogs I went with him and felt all the excitement that day. It was like adopting a new baby. And from that very moment when I carried the new puppy, I felt like a mom again!

It was awesome to welcome a new member of the family. After a week of calling him with different names, we then decided to call him Dunkin. We love Dunkin Donuts and yes, we just brought it home.
